Terms and Conditions

Two Marines and a Truck (TMAT) Policies and Limits of Liability

1.  Payment in Full - The customer must pay in full at the completion of job.  If payment is not made in full - a $40 per day late-payment penalty shall be assessed until full payment is received.

2.  High Risk Maneuvering-  We are often requested to perform task that border on the impossible.  For example, squeezing a 36' couch through a 36' door will invariably cause damage.  Two Marines will not be responsible for maneuvering items through extremely tight walk-ways or out windows.

3.  Valuation- The desired level of moving protection must be selected prior to the start of the move and cannot be changed upon commencement of the move.  Repair to furniture, wall, and floor damage will be done to 90% match by a professional.   The level or repair will not look exactly like the original product, but every effort will be made to ensure your satisfaction.  It will be the option of Two Marines to repair, replace, or offer a cash settlement based on your damage claim.  Actual cash value will be taken into account in regards to your compensation. The damage claim can be filled out online at TwoMarinesandaTruck.com.  We will respond within 30 days, accepting or denying your claim.

4.  Items Packed by Customer-The condition of the contents packed by the customer will not be the responsibility of Two Marines.  If it wasn't packed safely with wrapping paper and styrofoam peanuts by Two Marines employees, then we cannot be responsible for the contents of the box.  If there are items that need to be boxed or otherwise packaged that you would like covered then you will need to order packing services from Two Marines Moving in order to get full replacement coverage.

5.  IKEA and Press-board Furniture - TMAT can not be responsible for press-board or simulated wood furniture.  Much of the budget priced furniture today is made from pressed wood.  This type of material is not structurally sound.  Specifically, IKEA pieces seem to be made only for a one-time assembly, and not meant to be moved.
TMAT will not be responsible for assembly of items if directions are not provided.  We will do our best, but Two Marines needs the "blue-prints".

Furniture manufactured from press board and particle board is designed to go into a box when it is moved from the manufacturer to the retailer then to the customer dissembled. It is not built to withstand the normal stresses of a move as an assembled unit. Most are not designed with the extra wood structural pieces to adequately brace the unit for movement out of or into a residence or office, nor the normal moving truck vibration, even in air-ride moving trailers.  Two Marines' movers will do their best to transport these items for you in a safe and careful manner, but because pressed wood furniture is so unstable we are unable to offer cargo valuation or increased insurance on these pieces. If damage does occur you will not be able to submit a claim, even for $.60 per pound. Pressed wood and particle board furniture is moved at your own risk!

6.  Mattresses/Lamps/Pictures-  We will protect your mattresses with shrink-wrap and secure it properly in the truck.  However, mattresses sometimes develop lumps during the move process through no fault of our own.  Two Marines is not responsible for lumps or shifting of mattress materials.  Unless you have ordered our packing services, lamps and pictures are excluded from valuation coverage.  They naturally present a problem while loading the truck unless they are packed in their original containers or boxes.

8.  Factors Affecting the Price of your Move- The time it takes to complete your move will be affected by factors outside of our control including: (1) Your level of preparation/ packing before our arrival  (2) The cleanliness of the work environment  (3)  The amount of furniture/boxes/stuff that we are to move  (4) Traffic (5) Weather (6) The distance from the main access point of your residence/office to the truck at the point of origin and point of destination (7) the size of any elevator (8) the ability to reserve the elevator for the duration of the move. (9) Third parties such as realtors, APT leasing agents, title closing agents, and storage location managers.

9.  Acts of God - We are not responsible for damage occurred during your move because of rain, snow, sleet, high-wind, or other adverse weather conditions.

10. Internal Mechanical Workings - Two Marines can not be responsible for the internal parts of an item that affect its working condition. This is especially true of television sets, grand-father clocks, pianos, radios, DVD players, stereos, computers, musical equipment, and speakers.

Also called the "released value," this valuation policy is limited to 60 cents per pound per article.  Under this coverage, if a 100-pound item valued at $1,000 was lost or damaged and you agreed to a released value of shipment, the mover would be liable for no more than $60.00. There is no coverage for

Partial Value Valuation

Partial Valuation is our most popular valuation product.  It provides an increased level of protection against damages to furniture, walls, and floors.

The valuation coverage is $1.25 per pound and $100 towards the repair of wall/floor damage with a $0 deductible. Under this option, a 100 pound item that was lost or damaged would be covered up to $125.
